Thomas's fruit-eating bat (Dermanura watsoni)

After a few days checking trails and looking for tents, today I did the first experiment of the season!

Thomas's fruit-eating bat (Dermanura watsoni)

The chosen one was a group of Dermanura watsoni, three individuals in a tent of Calathea sp. around 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) from the field station.

I am impressed by the amount of mosquitos, like in any other place before! So in order to stay or survive a few hours in this clouds of mosquitos while we work in my experiment, the best options is use a net and build a quick shelter!

I play back acoustic cues of predators to the group of bats and record their response through video and acoustic monitoring.

At the end of the day, tired of carry 48 pounds of equipment, between microphones, speakers, tripods, cameras and all the accessories related to the experiment. However happy of accomplish another experiment for my project!
